Iv posted on mumsnet about my cat in the past. She can be a complete nightmare. She pukes in my shoes, trips me up, ignores my existence, kicks litter everywhere (out of a box with a lid, she literally has to hold the flap open to do it), scrounges, randomly claws the crap out of you and a million other jerky qualities. We adore her for being like that though.
This week my DH has been very very poorly in hospital, so I have been home alone with her. I have been up the hospital so much I expected her to be a nightmare as she always is if we are busier than normal. I couldn't have been more wrong.
Every time I come home she runs to me at the door and tries to climb up into my arms. She then follows me around surgically attached to my side until I sit down and cuddle with her. She then pushes herself as close to me as she possibly can, nuzzling into me and snuggling really close.
This is so unlike her as she is usually pretty aloof and only loving etc when she wants something. She just seems to get that I'm completely broken without DH and that I need some comfort. I'm 24 weeks pg too and it's really nice to not feel so alone right now.
I'm more grateful than I have ever been to have this kitty in my life and am amazed at her intuition and ability to comfort me at a seriously low point. Cats are completely amazing.

AIBU?
To think that cats are some of the most surprising incredible creatures on this earth.
