AIBU?

To expect better of Al Pacino?

You are Al Pacino for God's sake, why are you starring in tragically unfunny ads for Sky Broadband? I'd expect this of Bruce Willis, but Al I never once dreamt that you would disappoint me in this way. Do you really need the cash that much?

You were in The Godfather, you were in Serpico, you were in Dog Day Afternoon. Well, after this debacle you are now in disgrace.

Now get out of my sight.

I always wonder how much they get paid.

Elton John in a Post Office ad? What was that about? Surely not the money!? Hmm

I think he's having a breakdown. No, seriously. Jack and Jill was when I first thought it and now he's doing adverts! He clearly doesn't need the cash so...

I was stunned and dismayed.

I was shocked too.
Would Michael Corleone do this?
I think not.

However I do think the one with Bruce Willia is quite funny as I like the girl

I havent seen the ad, but seriously? Al Pacino is too cool for that shit, he was Scarface FFS and Michael Corleone, from the greatest film EVER

Vito with your name I think it's best if you don't subject yourself to the horror of this ad. You'd want to bring him out to the middle of a lake.

Those mortgage and/or alimony payments must be cutting deep

Yeah. Like Sting in an advert for Jaguar cars. Never forgotten, never forgiven.

I suppose it seems mild in comparison to David Beckham pimping himself out for anything.

Me and Vito like the same film.
You wouldn't catch Mr RD doing that (at least I hope not)

I had to ask df who it was because i just could not believe al would sink so low i'm not even a fan or whatever but he is a megastar a hollywood legend and yet there he is, advertising sky :( what annoys me too is that in jack and jill there were skits about him 'selling out' ...

I think his quality control chip has been wonky for some time now. I saw a fairly recent film which paired him and DeNiro, fgs (not Heat), and it was utter BILGE. Really really crap.

American A-list movie stars will only do ads overseas. For Brad Pitt to do Chanel is fine and dandy, here, but in the US it would make him look sort of cheap and desperate.

I think the Bruce Willis ad is funny!

I think the reason they'll do them is they pay very, very well. Like, they may get 20 million for a movie that takes six months of filming in some boring/uncomfortable location, but an advert takes a day and will pay a million or two. Quick, easy money. Can't say I blame them!

But, yeah, Pacino has gone off the rails. I think he's chewed so much scenery the lead paint has started to affect his mind.

HOOOYAAA!

I also like the Bruce Willis one, but as someone has already said I think it's because of the girl in it.

I really hated the Nicole Kidman chanel advert and the Scarlett Johansson one as well.

I read somewhere that the reason Kevin Bacon is everywhere at the moment is that he lost STACKS of money with Madoff.

That Dior advert with Charleze Theron really gets on my nerves for some reason. Most perfume ads are just baffling and ludicrous!

A 30 second ad for Al, vs the trilogy of nightmare that is Meet The Fockers for RdeN.

I'd take the 30 seconds.

Pacino has been disappointing for a VERY long time. Loved him in Dog Day, Serpico and The Godfather - no he just overacts and SHOUTS a lot.
