Perhaps 1987, when this book was first published, was a more innocent age. I have put photos of the book on my profile. I was a bit Shock when I saw the cover and then it got worse. Am I just be thinking too much into this?

I think you're overreacting. It's about a hole in the ground, yes?

Overreacting...it's just a hole in the ground. Really nothing more to think about here.

Think yabu - sorry. It's just about a hole.

Haha it's amazing, only someone with a dirty mind would think that was innuendo. Like me! If my 5yo charge bought that home no way I could read it with her without giggling. But then I am clearly filthy-minded!

It's a funny little book isn't it? A 5yr old is not going to link it to anything untoward though is he?

MalcolmTuckersMum · 16/06/2013 14:02

Seriously? Or have you made an early start on the sherry and are not seeing things very clearly?

Report
squeakytoy · 16/06/2013 14:03

A five year old would see it as it is... only an adult with a smutty mind would over think it.. Grin

It's not the text it's the mind that it goes in.

I had to laugh.
The king had a big brown rabbit in his big brown hole.

I think it may just be that I have a filthy mind though.

Years ago DD brought home one of the Magic Key type books with no words, where they are supposed to look at the pictures and tell you what's going on.

The child in the book was just starting nursery and played with giant alphabet building blocks. The picture showed the blocks stacked up to form the word H-E-P-A-T-I-T-I-S.

The teacher said it was a coincidence Hmm.

Actually, I found the same one here imgur.com/ysFlR

King's name? Warren of course. Hurhur at me.

It was the king wanting a big pink worm in his hole that made me crack - I had kept an open mind until that point despite all the pictures of him bending over.
