to really hate brithdays?

I turn into a spoilt brat and sulk all day every bloody year. I start geting miserable days before, need to break the cycle its pathetic.

Cause I end up feeling like nobody but dh and dc's love me and for some reason I always expect some degree of specialness but in actual fact dcs are at school and dh is at work and I am sat at home on my own.

Go out and but yourself a cake and a cup of tea and a magazine and just sit and enjoy it.
I'd love that for my birthday.

he he but I am the queen. dmum was telling me (well the kids) at the weekend how they are going for a day out and lunch today and I just thought that would be nice.

I started a thread exactly like this yesterday . I hate my birthday too . For the exact same reason . My parents got dh two designer t shirts for his birthday last week . I got shampoo and a hair dye

I don't normally sulk on birthdays but did this year. It was my 40th in January. Dh had talked about us going away for a weekend but that didn't materialise. We didn't even go out for a meal or a drink. He cooked dinner and gave me a card but no present or birthday cake. It was the most uncelebrated birthday I've ever had I'm still grumpy about it nearly five months later!

I LOVE birthdays, my own and others. I am a total drama queen on my birthday and expect everyone to get involved.

Then again, I am a total Scrooge when it comes to Christmas and would love to just ignore the whole bloody charade, so it all balances out

Go out and treat yourself to something or do something you wouldn't normally do, then next year guilt-trip/bully everyone into doing what you want.

YY I would scrap Christmas all together but birthdays are big in this house! Dh doesn't 'get it' but I have explained he doesn't have to get it he just has to 'do it'
