Katie left him, seeing the light about his Scientology and/or his odd choice of life
Katie is obviously a good mum
Katie is a good actress
Katie is one of the most beautiful women EVER

I can't help but see her in past roles and think....."oh katie, you had such promise and didn't know what was coming"

I LOVE how much she takes care of her daughter. But....she could have been the next Reese Witherspoon or Amy Adams.......and she isn't.

Wow, Hovering you're really getting into this MNing malarkey, aren't you?

Not sure if he ruined Katie Holmes's career, but he didn't seem to do much harm to Nicole Kidman's.

I think that has to with the fact that she is just a bloody dull actress, best suited to playing the parts of overly hormonal teens who live on a creek.

She is pretty much constantly in work, and seems to enjoy being on the stage rather than on film.. and I assume she can afford to choose.

She's not particularly notable as an actress is she?

Very pretty...but so's my mate Pam. meh...

Did she have promise?

I found her the same as a lot of other aspiring film stars. Has some talent, looks pretty.
Not an awful lot of substance.

Her role choices will have had more effect on her resume than her relationship with cruise.

I think Katies Holmes is average looking and not a particularly great actress TBH.

Anyway, the only reason she is off the scene is because she has chosen to give up hollywood and retrain to be a lawyer (apparently) so what has he ruined exactly?

I'm not a mad fan of Tom either BTW.

Dawsons Creek was immense pants. What teenagers speak the way they did? None. What else has she done? At least now she has the acclaim of being TC's ex wife.

She signed a deal with a man who is desperate to hide his true self. My best mate got this on good authority while in a hot tub in Puerto Rico. Tom cruise is bloody gay any he'd surely be happier if he could just come out. Nobody cares!!

Also the kid seems in dire need of a tussle in a wacky warehouse.

Having watched a few episodes of Dawsons Creek...I know I know not the best frame of referance, but the episode she got mugged.....I honestly thought was genious. When the mugee relates to the muger...........I couldn't have acted that. And she did.

She will always be Joey from Dawsons Creek to me, there isn't any point in her even trying to be anything else.

I admire your depth of love for her though, I'm not even that passionate about dh Grin

Being married to Tom helped her career....she would have dissappeared otherwise. Crap actress....

Um, loads of actors in teen dramas never go anywhere afterwards, whether or not they are married to sofa jumping crazies.

Bless. She didn't do any decent films before/during /after Tom did she?

She could've at least done a CZJ and bought her way into films/ awards with her husbands clout.

I think if anything she saw him as a leg up the ladder. Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz weren't affected badly. I imagine he's a nice bloke. Just abit strange and controlling

Yes but I can't see her now and not think...........poor katie

Well she was in that Batman movie when married to Tom? Struggling to think of anything else but I imagine his Hollywood power and influence helped.

I disagree with you. She would have gone into Oblivion otherwise. Like Sarah Michelle Gellar has done after Buffy.

Not much substance to her. Her behind looks fab in jeans though.

She was pretty average in Batman Begins, nowhere near as good as Maggie Gyllenhaal in The Dark Knight. I don't think Tom ruined her career, think her limited acting ability did that.

He also ruined the careers of all the actors from Saved by the Bel.

I agree she had real promise and made a terrible error marrying that driven little man. Although she got her gorgeous daughter out of it.

She seemed drained of vitality and youth by the relationship didn't she?

She should head up the cast of the next shit-hot tv drama - something with the quality of Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Six Feet Under.

I've never thought about Katie Holmes for this long before Grin

See I thought she was perfect in Dawsons creek. I thought though that these series can often be the death of an actor/actress as no one ever sees them as anything else. I'm glad she's left that idiot though. That's going to be the big thing to shake off. Have her known as who she is and not "Tom cruises wife/ ex wife"

I like her so ill give her the chance :o
