AIBU?

To be secretly pleased I had a post deleted?

Not going to say what as that would get me into trouble. I didn't actually think what I said was bad but I don't mind it has been deleted.

I've never had a post deleted before, I feel like a fully fledged member now :)

Is it wrong to be not so secretly pleased :o

YABU to feel secretly pleased because it is shameful to have a post deleted and once you get to a certain number (nobody know what number this actually is), then they ban you and you can never return. Your life will become empty and meaningless and you will turn to online gambling and drinking too much.

I was deleted once, but I try not to think about it.

I think you can safely assume you are an untameable, radical wild thing....who needs censorship!

and your name is therefore very suitable......:)

Yabu, I still feel bad about the time I was deleted. I've been collecting my hair from the bath plug for months to make a blanket for mnhq as a way to say sorry.

m I don't know.

It's happened once to me and I was surprised by how shocked and upset I felt. I've thought a lot more about what I say since.

But maybe I was being pathetic and YANBU!

I took my deletion for the team. I'm proud of it Grin

YANBU, totally agree with you, think we were all deleted on the same thread.

I had a post deleted last week, first time ever (different name, have just name changed), it was a thread on how disability was "handled" in previous decades - I posted that in those days kids like my DS3 would have been beaten at school and probably would have sat still out if fear of being hit.

I was horrified to come back to the thread next day and see I'd been deleted- I assume because someone thought I was saying children should be beaten Shock Which I was not, I was saying fear of corporal punishment was a method of control at that time.

I was mortified actually, and considered posting again with a clear explanation but the thread had ""moved on" by several pages so I decided not to in the end.

I've only been deleted a couple of times as far as I can remember.

One I did not deserve and was really pissed off about as the OP was a complete tosser and upset a load of people. Plus she sent me a snotty pm full of pa insults telling me how sad my life must be Hmm.

One I definitely did deserve, telling someone to fuck off is against da roolz even if you say it to a weasely troll. Felt a bit bad about that one.

Don't remember any others specifically so I must have been completely comfortable in my righteousness.

You go you big rebel you!

It's not terribly secret if you start a thread announcing your secret pleasedness OP.

I have had a couple of posts deleted. One was WELL worth it. The other I feel slightly ashamed of as I may have inadvertantly upset someone.

So YABU - because it may have upset someone. But don't worry Thanks

I had one post deleted and I was a bit annoyed. A local business recognised themselves in my rant and got it taken down. It didn't change the fact they are still crap though. YANBU. It is a rite of passage.

I'm going to go against the grain and say YANBU but that's cause I think MN is very trigger happy with the deletions. I didn't see your post though so can't comment on whether it was justified or not Grin

I think I have only been deleted once. I had written a hilariously funny limerick about a poster who always brags. I put a lot of effort into it Sad but I knew it was against MN policies . Fair cop and all that. Sigh.

I still remember it though.

It's a well know rite of passage.
That's when you become an official MNetter. Grin

But it depends on the reason.

I've neverevereverever been deleted [smug]

...to my knowledge, anyway... [wavering smug]

...I wonder if I have been? [worried]

...and I never realised! [panic]

...and everyone knew except for me! [paranoid]

I've had a post deleted today too! My first ever one.

I'm torn between feeling shocked and a bit ashamed but on the other hand like I've got something to cross off my MN bucket list. Wink

I've been here 6 years so it's taken a while!

When I first got a post deleted, I ran around the house screeching "I deserve freedom of speech. I'VE BEEN CENSORED!" and then I got over and have been deleted lots more since then.
