My son loves a cat on a youtube video, it's called keyboard cat for anyone who doesn't recognize the pictures.
He has a thing about pictures of cats recently and likes to put pictures up around his room. He has been saving up birthday and Christmas money because he wanted a big picture of the keyboard cat to hang up in his room. We ordered the picture on canvas material at the beginning of February and it has just arrived today.

I'm really disappointed with the quality, it is pixalated and the cat's ears have been cut off.
Here is a link to what it was meant to look like here.

Here are a few pictures of the product I received here, here and here.

My DH says he cant see anything wrong with it but to me it doesn't look like the product that was pictured on the website. My son is also a bit disappointed. Would you ask for a refund?

Yes, it looks like they've enlarged the print too much

You couldn't expect a high definition image, but it shouldn't have been cropped. Refund shouldn't be a problem I reckon.

Yes I would ask for a refund. You need to see all of the cat.

Well, the original source is a 240p video. Of course it was going to be pixellated if you blow it up for printing.

I would suspect they may not have copyright for the image either so have had to crop it for legal reasons.

My point is that there was no mention about the decrease in quality with regards to the size or that the image would be cropped. If there was a note about this I would have asked my DS if he was ok with this or I would have not purchased it.
Good point about the copyright I never considered that, I still think they could have mentioned that they would have to crop it though.

The one-star reviews clearly state that this is blurry at the sizes they offer, and common sense dictates that quality will be lost when printing it at a size any bigger than the Youtube video player.

Huh the link I have says it has 4.3 stars out of 5?

Distance selling regulations.

Ask for a refund, it is not the same product as advertised. They have cropped it, and then blown it up.

You can ask if they have the copyright to the image and if they are not in breach of license regulations when altering artwork, or some such bull

An average of 4.3 stars. All nine 1-star reviews mention the blurriness.

Perhaps biased because I teach music, but visually I think it works better with the ears cut than the keyboard Blush I do get the unhappiness with the blurred image, but if it was enlarged more than twice, I wouldn't be surprised.

This is what it actually says about reviews for that poster "There are currently no reviews for "Keyboard Cat Wall Poster!", but here's what others are saying about the product:"

The average of 4.3 stars is for all the posters that have been reviewed.

That is absolutely appalling,

However many stars it has, it is not what you ordered. Def try to get monery back

I would send it back and get a refund

They wouldn't have cropped it for copyright reasons - if they were breaching copyright, then just cropping a bit of the picture wouldn't make any difference.
