AIBU?

To wonder why people post on Flouncers Corner?

If you don't want to go on MN, can't you just stop going on MN? Why post about it - unless you want people to beg you to stay?

I don't get it.

...and then they don't flounce but come back and be a right bitch all over MN?

It is odd.

Sometimes because they're taking a break for RL reasons and want to say a sort of goodbye.
Mostly because they are madly attention-seekery and can't resist one last re-hash of the thread that made them flounce.

Think people say it's good manners or something!! Hmm

Like not just walking out of a party but saying 'cheers for having me! (now go fuck yourselves)' and to say bye to mates they have made?

I've seen lots of threads wondering where people are, I guess posting there is just saying goodbye.

Smile flouncers comer is there to say a dramatic goodbye or a normal goodbye so posters aren't where the hell did so and so go a few weeks later. In fact it's selfish to leave MN and not post in flouncers corner Grin

It could be a lot of things and that might be that they want to talk about why they want to leave. Whats wrong with that?
It might be that they just want to say goodbye.
I have even here for years and if I decided to go I probably would post to say cheerio.
Sometimes they are just taking a break and are letting people know to save PMs or people puzzling about where they are.

I don't find it hard to imagine lots of reasons why people use it.

I would like more "fuck you shitheads! I'm off to net mums" threads in flouncers. They are always great

Report
SuePurblyFeltYourPresents · 03/01/2013 19:27

Oh me too, Pag. Sometimes people used to follow them over, when they started the inevitable 'MN is full of mean beatches' thread on the Sparkly Site.
Then wot larks.

The point is so that people are not tempted to post in Chat or AIBU:

You are all a bunch of fuckers so I'm orf.

I have used it in the past, just to say I'm off but I'll be back - in the vain hope that somebody would care.

Was only asking where you've been hiding, earlier today!

Is there really a flounces corner?

Do you get fitted there for a skirt or do have to be already wearing your flouncing skirt when you get there?

Report
Pagwatch · 03/01/2013 19:33

There a big skirt and a big door to slam and smelling salts in case you get the vapours.

SuePurblyFeltYourPresents · 03/01/2013 19:36

I've flounced, Brain.
Not really Grin. Not feeling the MN love, and I have a work deadline. I'm working now , honest.

There are loads of really good reasons people post in flouncers corner but there are some hilarious attention seeking ones. Usually from people who don't post often then do an AIBU. Everyone says yes you are then they flounce saying what nasty bitches we all are.

They usually leave with a massive post just hoping someone might beg them to stay. My favourite response to one of these was:

"Go on then, off you pop"

So that other posters who might "know" you and "chat" to you on here don't wonder where you've gone.

Or, alternatively, to have a final vent and say why you've had enough.

Would have thought either of those scenarios were perfectly obvious Confused.
