Is he? I can't find that reported anywhere.

He's joined the PR team. I agree OP, I think he's odious.

Max Clifford is creepy, he's as good at stopping scandals from hitting the press as he is at selling stories.

Anyone watch Loius Theroux do a documentary on him a few years back?

Report
OpheliaPayneAgain · 31/10/2012 09:18

He's a marketting genius.

he's not really a genius.

he's very old school. has a lot of dirt on a lot of editors so has people in his back pocket. horrible man and totally rips off all his clients

I don't like him. He isn't a suitable person to head anything. Except perhaps a meeting of creepy people.

nyone watch Loius Theroux do a documentary on him a few years back?

yes and he is creepy and a sneak I think his clients rely on him far to much and I don't understand half of what comes out of his mouth, it is like he is saying words but not saying anything Confused

Nancy66 · 31/10/2012 09:29

he's a fantasist too.

Anytime there is some big scandal he always comes forward and pretends to have a key role at the heart of it.

Its yet another display of how much contempt the BBC have for the general public. They must think we are all a bit dim and can slide this under the radar.

Isnt there a you tube clip showing MC actually admitting this?

Why havent the police pulled him in to ask which ones of his clients are asking to be protected against allegations of child abuse.....

Yet another person who puts his own wealth above the safety of children, so yep lets stick him with Children in Need. I'm surprised Gary Glitter isnt presenting CIN with the amount of crap coming out of the BBCs mouth. Why not, lets be honest paedophillia seems to be acceptable with them.

The Beeb really are one of the stupidest organisations on the planet.

Children in need wont get a penny from me this year, our local hospice can have it instead.

Max Clifford could do so much good and chooses not to which should make him unemployable within the Beeb and childrens charities.

I'd love to kidnap MC and get the thumb screws out. Can you imagine how much information he has on everybody???
Or,better still (without breaking any laws) his wife is a mumsnetter, and could spill the beans on all their pillow talk?

This is a man who readily admits to bribing police! He calls himself a publicist but then dmits that most of his pr is about keeping information "away from the media" ie. not publishing bad stuff about famous people!!!! Me thinks this could be one of the reasons that so many have got away with it for so long? Oh yes, and remind me who was Freddie Starr's publicist? Dont forget to feel sorry for all those famous people who are now worried because they can't remember how many underage girls they screwed coz it was so long ago! What are Children in Need doing?

Bring back Terry Wogan, I say Wink

He said he has had lots of phone calls in the wake of Jimmy Saville from people saying that if he hears anything about them to give them the heads up. Now to me, that is almost an admission of guilt by them. I mean I wouldn't be worried about future arrests, having done nothing wrong.

I wasn't going to give to CIN tthis year anyway due to JS.

MC definatly another foolish decision by BBC.

Here is the you tube video where he admits to knowing and protecting Alan Clark.
Im absolutely disgusted with the BBC. They are treating child abuse as something trivial and treating the public with contempt.
They are either as thick as pig shit or they just dont care.
Clifford is a hypocrite and a parasite.

If you want to do more than whinge about it on an internet forum, then you can contact the BBC Trust and let them know how you feel. Their contact details are here: BBC Trust Contact Details

Max Clifford doesn't have any formal role in Children In Need, does he? I think two things are being confused - the former head of CiN saying they steered clear of Saville and, separately, Max Clifford saying he's had clients contacting him to say 'tell me if you hear any rumours'.

Heres a link which says exactly what his role will be.

surrey.greatbritishlife.co.uk/article/max-clifford-joins-the-children-in-need-team-34897/

I?ve just been asked to become the PR ambassador for BBC Children in Need, which places me on their developing advisory committee, and naturally I was more than happy to accept the invitation.
They?ve asked me to help create and put on all kinds of fund-raising events, all year round, in addition to the major event that takes place just before Christmas.
In preparation for my new role, I?ve been finding out all about the background to Children in Need, and it certainly makes for some fascinating reading.

What the hell are these people thinkingSad

What does PR ambassador mean, he will hide all the shit, as and when it happens.
