Pls, just report the page if it's that offensive, rather than linking it here, all outraged, thereby reaching a wider audience. I don't come on here going on about sequins; fairtrade; whatever I am outraged by, linking to my own personal campaign preferences.

Rant over.

Agree....facebook means nothing to me....I have no interest in it whatsoever, other than it seems to annoy a lot of people. I thought it was a site for teenagers.

GetOrfMoiLand · 15/07/2010 18:21

lol at sequins.

I agree btw. Who out of their teens really gives a shit about facebook anyway?

Report
grumpypants · 15/07/2010 18:37

I have only ever used it to catch up with far away friends I can' t be bothered to ring . Have never stumbled upon anything vaguely offensive.

are we supposed to be pro or anti-sequins?

I prefer just to ridicule the numptys, but since I'm only friends with people I actually know and mmore importantly like, then I don't get exposed to this kind of crap at all.

Because it just drags offensive disputes which are bothering numbskulls on facebook over here. Pointless.

What's up with sequins?

Report
GetOrfMoiLand · 15/07/2010 18:52

Ooh I love the word numbskulls.

I get enough of this shit from 14 year old dd 'ooh mum I have just rated this facebook page' blah de endless blah.

I don't need it when I come on here./

It's as ridiculous as going onto Fb and requesting that all your "friends" come and argue your side on aibu.

just hijacking my own thread, but yesterday I was all ready to be cross with some bloke using the M and Baby space next to me when my own baby attempted to escape from the trolley and had to be rescued by him! So I have been forced to reconsider my previous position.

There was ample evidence on a thread over the weekend that mumsnet use and facebook use could go hand in hand in a manner that was more than a little unfortunate. Linking to irritating campaigns is the least of our worries.

YANBU - the whole thing should be banned.

MN sticks it's oar in everywhere - don't you know that by now? We're a great big bunch of opinionated women who should, by rights, be spending time with their families, cultivating hobbies and using our time wisely. Instead we are intent on dishing out our opinions on anything, because we know best about everything

Do people actually admit in RL that they post here?

I won't hear a word against FB. It is invaluable for three reasons:

  1. You can stalk your DCs and reassure yourself they're still alive while at University and uncommunicative.
  2. You can be endlessly entertained by the shenanigans of your teenage niece, daughter of your perfect step-sister who has always been the perfect mother. She still hasn't clocked all the photos of niece smoking.
  3. You can play Bejewelled Blitz.

grumpypants - I love the tale of P&T space thief who caught your errant baby .
