Apparantly footballers can do it if they have done something naughty.

On every Denise thread it appears that apparantly no one on Mumnet really cares how you feed your baby as long as you get on and do it, I think this is great .

So if we stop the media waffling on about it we can all talk about other stuff, and stop worrying.

That is all - off to do the ironing now

I agree.

It's ludicrous that celebs have to provide cast iron reasons for FF when in fact is is nobody's business and anyway, how do we know if they are telling the whole story.

It's all just puff isn't it.

I console myself with the idea that the likes of DVA etc are too busy to come on here and see if their excuses have passed muster or not.

I agree. People should mind their own business. It's up to her whether she wants/can bf her dd.

I agree that actually there aren't as many people who care one way or the other as GMTV likes to make out
(but the ones who do care all watch GMTV )

I think what would really help this discussion is 54 pages of anecdotes about how everyone fed their babies.

The media are idiots to go on about it.

But I don't think celebs do have to give cast iron reasons for ff at all. They just bang on about it regardless, for the sake of something to say, some attention.

Nobody really wants to know. And then the bull they come out with raises hackles.

Just feed your baby however you want unless it's pureed curry, shut up and get on with it.

It's the, "They won't stop looking at my breasts whilst I'm feeding my baby," tosh that is annoying.

I'd find it mighty annoying if I was well known and attracted attention everywhere I went, and found my baby and my breasts the subject of public scrutiny and even pap photos when out and about.

It isn't the same for them as it is for us.

And anyway, why aren't there 55 page threads about 'we don't want to hear how DVO chose her nursery colours' etc - there never will be, will there. It has nowt to do with not wanting to hear about it WW, and everything to do with wanting very much to hear about it so her reasons can be judged acceptable or not acceptable by people who have never met her.

lol tethersend

You know what, you can avoid attention if you want. There are plenty of celebs who do that. And dvo is hardly A list, is she?

Hilarious article today in the DM about DVO going to starbucks and not bf - is it very quiet on the celeb news front at the moment or something?

Report
swanandduck · 15/07/2010 13:21

You're right WW. She doesn't have to feed her baby in full view of the media or a gaping public. Surely she could go off somewhere discrete and do it?

Report
MorrisZapp · 15/07/2010 13:24

Surely the point is that only DVO and her DP know exactly why she has chosen to FF?

I sincerely doubt that her total reasoning amounts to wanting to sit in Starbucks.

But why should she have to give a full account of her choices as if in a court of law? She isn't committing a crime.

Stealth - Can you please write an article for the DM or any ladies magazine justifying to us all the feeding of said biscuit please?

I fed my baby couscous, but I'm thinking of stopping because of the mess it makes. And I don't have much of it in the cupboard. Perhaps I need more support?

You have to ask yourself in these situations: What would Denise van Outen do?

DVO would NOT feed her child a bisciut shaped like a squirrel

Grey squirrel of course, I'm not a complete ogre

Another thread about DVO?

Report
WinkyWinkola · 15/07/2010 13:39

She doesn't have to give an account of her reasons at all like in a court of law.

But she chose to go the press to do it. Nobody asked her. She just did it. Not in a court of law either.

Like I said - and keep saying - it's the bs she comes out with that gets on people's nerves.

Report
Mingg · 15/07/2010 13:42

But why do you care? What difference does it actually make in anyone's life what DVO does or says or how she feeds her baby?

Report
Honeydragon · 15/07/2010 13:50

mingg - that was the point, apparantly no one does care except for the media bless 'em.

hence tethersand and stealth having some fun.

Appreciate that, my comment was really directed at WW. However, if no one cares why there are 4 threads about the same thing?
