With me being at home all the time I listen to the radio a lot (various stations on digital) and I send in my songs ,answers to questions etc and nothing
dw phones up dale winton and gets on first time
My desire stems from Ken Bruce reading out a text I sent in about 6 yrs ago about tuna and tomatoe sandwiches. He said my name and I was so excited I nearly shit

It is like a drug, once your mentioned you just dont want it to stop

annie nightingale read out a letter of mine and played my request 24 years ago and it was probably the peak of my life and what I will remember on my deathbed

My name was mentioned on the Jimmy Young show and he played a Cliff Richard record, just for me, on my Grannie's request.

Yes, famous for three seconds. We only pick up Heartland Radio now so if our name is on, it means our cows are out and trampling cyclists or something.

People do not realise how exciting it is haveing your name read out on the wireless.

I spotted myself in the backgroun on Last of the summer wine in the mid 90's which was exciting too. They used to film by the mill I worked in and I was in the background going to the canteen at lunchtime
I know it was me because I was wearing a bright orange jumper

I was on Swap shop once - majorettes, behind Keith Chegwin. I believe I may have mentioned this before on MN ....

... but Jason Dale Winton ????!!???

Just take comfort in the fact that Ken Bruce trumps Dale Winton anytime.

I have a friend who is banned from the local radio station as he rang so many times and won nearly every competition going it made them look bad.

My mate is Seymour Totty who was one of the writer's on Terry Wogan when he did his breakfast show.

Works just down the road from me

Dale just has no presence, he sounds almost depressed sometimes or at other times just a forced 'jolly'. He reads oout requests but manages to make it sound like someone has died. He has no connection with the people he speaks to on the phone - though I recon his producer has had a word about that this week. I have to turn it over.

Duelingfanjo, I think you probably do turn him off - You are not exactly his um, area of expertise!!!

Jeremy Vine once read out my rant text on his show.

He pronounced my name wrong, but hey, it still made my frickin' month!

Also had a text read out on Radio 1 a couple of years ago, but it was 5am on a Sunday morning, so I was probably the only one listening not on a come-down.
