Baby had egg 45 minutes ago...

And so far she has shown no signs of a reaction. We fed her a small cupcake. The batch was made with 1 egg though it was a two egg recipe. It made about 16 mini cupcakes. She is 9 months old and enjoyed it because it was made with sugar too.

I am a nervous reck. Please can someone tell me the time frames for anaphylaxis occurring. I wish now I had given it to her earlier in the day but we had a day out and decided to try when we got home.

(For those that don't know the background dd2 is 9 months and hasn't been tested for allergies. Dd1 is allergic to milk, eggs and nuts and carries piriton and epipens)

I've only ever known anaphylaxis being pretty much immediate after ingesting a substance, that's why epipens are issued.

If you're ever in doubt about a substance, make sure you can get the right help immediately if you need it, before you offer the suspect food.

Tinted she is fine - we tried egg custard today with no reaction. Only a tspn per day - we have piriton at all times .

That's a great result, it must be a weight off your shoulders, it's such a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation, isn't it?
Fingers crossed that your dd2 has no allergies, it's possible.

I hope so. It would be wonderful but we will just need to wait and see.

Also - don't forget it's often second or subsequent exposure that causes the reaction - DS was fine first time he had peanuts . .
