Visiting a friend with bedbugs

I'm supposed to be going to a friends house on Saturday. They have bedbugs and are having their house fumigated on Friday.

I've read that bedbugs live in sofas etc as well as beds and will jump into bags, purses and clothing and travel to a different house that way.

Do you think its Ok to visit if the house has just been fumigated?

No don't go! You only need one of the little buggers to travel back with you and your house will be infested too. Definitely not worth the risk.

No. Don't bother going, it's going to make so much work for you. Definitely not worth the hassle.

No way.
Can you arrange to meet her somewhere else? and not in your home so you can avoid any hitchhikers coming along in her bag

Do not go.

It typically takes several treatments to get rid of bed bugs, and no, they do not restrict themselves to beds.

Horrible to have them, the bites are really nasty, and it is very expensive and hard work to get rid if them.

Meet on neutral territory.

How did she get them?

Don't go. Just don't even think about it. Yes, they can travel in suitcases etc and your friend's problem will become your problem.

OK. Thanks for the advice.

I've already said I'm not going - it was only for an evening, and they're having the house fumigated before I go. She's not even definite its bedbugs - although she must be pretty sure ...

Anyway I said I didn't want to risk it and could we meet in a cafe instead. Was feeling bad, but having read all your responses - I don't feel bad anymore.
