I have shoe contact dermatitis- can anyone recommend hyperallergenic shoes?

depends which chemical you are allergic to. lots of leather shoes have high level of irritants for the curing process.

you might get some help from allergy uk about this as its an increasing problem.


latex is also a major element of reactions from shoes as its in the glue.

There is a company called vegetarian shoes - one of my friends buys shoes from there - they may be more skin friendly, or at least be able to advise on their glue! they are leather free shoes.

My DS reacts to lots of petrochemicals, washing plastics etc, especially new things, in baking soda and vinegar seems to do something to neutralise them and minimise his reactions.
