when i went dairy free i was told that it would take at least 6 weeks to get any existing dairy out of her system so I would look into that a bit more rather than chopping and changing every 2 weeks

Use Sainsbury's free from range and drink Rice Dream.
Its not as hard as you might think. Get the whole family to do it too to save on the cooking.

No. You arent. It isnt as difficult as it first appears. Contact your Hospital's dietician for an appt to run thru it and get leaflets.
I cant believe they didnt offer that in the first place.

we've done something like this for wheat free. it's not as bad as it seems, just get the meals planned out. You can get bread on prescription perhaps otherwise check out your nearest healthfood store. Rice cakes, potatoes, pasta made with corn/rice is all good.

We have diary free anyway - buy dairy free spreads from the supermarket, soya yoghurts. Cheese is the hardest thing to not eat cos we all use it so much. Ty ham, chicken, tuna instead of sandwiches.

You eat lots of meals like this:

Grilled meat or roast meat
Potatoes or rice or polenta or rice noodles
Veggies

You eat one for lunch and one for tea, whatever the diet - then for breakfast you have:

Wheat free (I would say go gluten free BTW) - gluten free breakfast cereal, and toast - normal milk and butter.

Dairy Free: Normal cereal and toast but with soy milk and pure marg.

Egg free: Just check that whatever you have for breakfast has no eggs in it.

HOWEVER; I think this is the least scientific thing I have heard as in 2 weeks you will make a couple of mistakes and so if there is no change it does not mean there is no allergy. It took 6 weeks of giving up gluten for me to feel better - and 3 months of egg and dairy free for ds's eczema to dissapear.

I would recommend Sue Dengate's failsafe diet as you have a very restricted diet to start with and then introduce groups of foods one at a time. By giving up everything you feel better (hopefully) and then you systematically find out which one (or more) it was.

Supermarkets will provide you with booklets which list wheat free etc, try ringing customer services of each supermarket.

wanted to start this over the w/e but maybe i need some more information first, its not the dairy or egg that freak me out but the wheat tbh, so maybe if we start with the egg which seems to be the easiest. As wheat is in just about everything I wanted to buy today. Its things like packed lunches for school that worries me and snacks. We do have a fairly good diet, in as much that we cook mostly from scratch, but like I say its just packed lunch that consists of sandwich, choc biscuit, fruit, crisps, cheese

Re dairy free ask them if you can use sheeps milk as that is different entirely to cow and goat. If so you can have cheese like some Fetas and certainly Manchego (yummy).
PURE is a good butter/marg.
Soup, kacket potatoes, wheat free sausages cold, free from pizza bases, rice dishes. We can give you loads of help here if you need it.

When I was BF my dd only took 24 hrs for her to stop vomiting/diarrhoea when I stopped dairy. If I'd had something with milk in accidentally I knew about it the next day for sure so maybe not too short a time? She was soy intolerant too and same time period to notice effects.
Re dairy free - not that hard for a short time as no need to worry too much about calcium etc. Try Oatly milk substitute, Pure spreads, casseroles, pasta and sauce - just be really really careful as milk protein gets into so many things like processed ham and stocks etc.
Egg free - we're still doing that one! Need to be careful with baked goods, noodles, pasta but otherwise really not too bad.
Good luck and hope you see some effects!
