FPIES is a delayed non igE allergy which typically causes projectile vomiting 2-6hrs after an offending food is eaten. The most common foods that cause a problem are milk, soya, rice, oats, egg, poultry, legumes and sweet potatoes but any food can cause a reaction. This is a rare condition but studies suggest it often goes undiagnosed.
My son is 11 months and has this condition. I am trying to raise awareness and also i have set up a facebook page today to offer support for those families affected in the uk as all other sites tend to be based in America.
If your lo has been diagnosed with FPIES or the symptoms sound familiar, feel free to come and join the group x
