Aptamil Pepti 2 vs Nutramigen Lipil - which taste better (or worse!!)

My 14 month old DS has CMP. I've been trying, without much success to get him on to Nutramigen Lipil since he was prescribed it 3 months ago. So far, I have been able to get him to take about 2oz of it with a mix of Oatly milk and cream. I am wondering if anyone can tell me whether their LOs have found Aptamil Pepti, or any other hydrolysed milks more paletable? It does stink and taste vile, so it's no wonder really as he was around one when he started on it.

We've waited six months to see a nutritionist who suggested soy, but he seems sensitive to this too (apparently 50% of children with CMP are sensitive also to soy). He's dropped a significant amount on the percentiles, from 90-75 for height, in three months, so I'm a bit worried about him.

My ds was diagnosed with CMP intolerance 13 years ago. Nutramigen was utterly vile and disgusting. He simply refused to drink it. It stank. He was intolerant to soy so in the end he was prescribed something called Pepti Junior (which sounds a bit like your Aptamil Pepti)
It was waay better. He could drink it and eventually put on some weight. I've never heard of anyone coping with Nutramigen. I would literally gag when making up his bottles. Foul

My dd took the aptamil pepti 1+2 fine. She was alot younger though. It stinks when you cook with it but from what I've heard it's more palatable than the others.

The trick seemed to be to make sure it's really warm.

Thanks for the info tire and caffeine

If it wasn't the best part of £30 a box, I'd just buy it to try. I'm going to see if they have some free samples tomorrow. Caffeine that's funny re warming it. DS likes his best fresh from the freezer!! I guess it's like white wine. The cooler it is the less you taste the bitterness!

Does it stink when you make it up just for milk, caffeine?

My DS was put on to Nutramigen 1 at 8 weeks (he's now 11) and has been okay on it. He's dropped down to 5-6 ounces from 7 but that's our only problem. Well, that and the fact he's only put on a pound and dropped from 85th centile to around 70th in the three weeks since he's been on it.

Taste wise though, he's never bothered really. Guess that's because of how young he is.

Agree that it stinks Angry

I didn't think it smelt to bad. I mean it was smellier than normal formula but I wouldn't say it was as bad as others say the nutramigen is.

My 8 month old wouldn't take the nutramigen, it really did stink though and the paed warned us he prob wouldn't take it.
He was on normal aptamil pre cma and took aptamil pepti 2 with no problems.
