The heat has caused my DD to have a flare up where as before this heatwave she was relatively clear. Cool flannels laid over the worst of the itching helps.

The heat is playing havoc with my excema. The worst is when I sweat as when I sweat it makes me itch which then gives me sores which when I sweat makes me itch even more. I am taking double doses of hayfever meds which helps a bit.
Avoid denim and give all your clothes an extra rinse when washing as well

Good tip. I've convinced DH to switch to non-bio and going to start cutting out diet-related allergens from Friday (can't start tomorrow - it's the staff do!).

Something must have changed in the last few days that is now irritating your skin.

Have you changed your laundry powder? Has your diet changed? Or it might just be the heat is making you sweat more than normal and it's irritating your skin.

See if you can work out what's changed, if it is eczema then you should try treating it with an irritant free moisturiser //www.skinsalve.co.uk

Likely to be the heat. DS's eczema always flares up when he gets hot and sweaty. Suncream can also be a culprit and I've found that the reaction isn't immediate, it can take at least a few days of using a particular suncream before we discover a reaction.
