Could this be related to my 7mo Allergys : projectile vomiting?

My 7mo DS has DMP allergy, is EBF and both him and I are dairy free an soya free (i suspect soya as similar reaction but not as strong). I'm weaning him gradually and not introducing anything to drastic. But for about 4 weeks now he's started to projectile vomit, initially it was only about once or twice a week but now it's once a day today it was twice. I'm not talking about a little posit I mean he covers me, him and the furniture around us Sad

Could this be related to allergy? I'm stumped at what it could be.

We've got paediatric allergy apt in July but am going to see GP in mean time as worried about him losing weight (thou he is a chubster).

Anyone's little ones had projectile vomit as a reaction?

I know it might not be relates to allergies (as my DH thinks). But I can't help worry that he is having something that he is reacting to.

take him to the gp to rule out any other cause first, then ask gp to contact the consultant for advice.
see if this can bump you up the list or give some medical advice to gp to support you.

good luck.

Before my DS was diagnosed with allergies, he used to projectile vomit as a baby all the time so it can be a symptom. Nobody listened to me until he did it in the middle of the surgery while being weighed Grin. Problem is, it can be a symptom of lots of other things too.

DS also projectile vomited with allergies. Can you keep a food diary and see if you can find a pattern?

Thanks, had a bad day, he's now sick after every meal and is coming up in hives where sick lands. Think it's my breast milk, or whatever I'm eating. He's refusing a bottle and my diet is already totally dairy and soya free (I'm a vegie so effectively vegan). His skin is a mess, ezcema terrible and constant itching.

Sorry for rant but feel a bit shit with it all.

I'm not convinced it's what he's eating as its every meal. Can't be allergic to everything!

Sounds like you really need to see a specialist as he could have multiple allergies (like my DS and others on here) or maybe there's some other problem. Given the symptoms you describe, eosinophilic esophagitis is another possibility: www.eosinophilicesophagitishome.org/

Well I now have RAST test results, not good.

Very high for milk, egg, wheat, nearly all types of nuts and soya.

I am shocked and so sad for my little boy. GP trying to get urgent apt with peaditrician and I'm chasing dietician up.

What on earth do I eat????

Thanks for responses.

what foods is your lo eating? how long after eating does he vomit?

Is it possible he has fpies? common triggers are milk, soya, rice, oats, sweet potato, butternut squash, all beans/peas, but any food can be a trigger. vomiting is typically 2-3 hours after food.

Usual allergy testing is usually negative as it is a t-cell response not IgE but having IgE allergies to other foods (and even both ige and fpies reactions to the same food is possible) is common.

piggy he vomits pretty much immediately after eating and if it makes contact with his skin hives appear so pretty certain it's allergies. But will read about fpies (never heard of it!)
Thanks thou.

Not an allergy but both my kidsprojectile vomited for several months before they were diagnosed with coeliac disease. The vomiting stopped before diagnosis but other symptoms like bloating took over. Could this be gluten-related?
