Hope this might be useful for someone. Aldi have some cake mixes, less than £1 each, chocolate and victoria sponge that are egg and dairy free.
I've only bought the chocolate you'd need to double check the ingredients of the plain victoria packet.
The instructions say 'just add eggs and water' but I've made it up with half water and half oat milk instead and made fairy cakes and they have turned out fine.
I know I can fairly easily whip up an egg free cake but these will be handy to have in the cupboard for when I get told at nursery that another mum will be bringing in cakes tomorrow for a birthday and can I bring an alternative for my DC. I only had to add the water/oat milk and stir, really quick and no measuring.
Anyway, if anyone wants to check if they'd be ok for them, the ingredients on the choc one are:
wheat flour, sugar, palm oil, fat reduced cocoa powder, rapeseed oil, raising agents: glucono-delta-lactone, sodium bicarbonate
Allergy advice: contains wheat gluten
I was abit worried that the glucono-delta-lactone might be a milk derivative but it isn't, it is entirely vegetable based, see here
