PLEASE REMEMBER TO ALWAYS CHECK LABELS, SOME OF THE OLDER PRODUCTS NOT PRODUCED IN THE NUT FREE FACTORIES ARE STILL IN STOCK IN SHOPS, SO YOU HAVE TO CHECK THE LABLE EVERY TIME!!

Way hay! I just discovered this today when I looked at the packaging on a crunchie in the hope that it would magically be safe for my DS who has a nut allergy and it was! It was the most delighted I've seen him in a long time! Thanks for spreading the news ukey

I teally struggled to get Easter eggs this year. Pleased Cadbury now making an effort.

the maltesers bunny egg was safe (may contain traces of egg)
the malterers and friends egg was also safe

BUT all other maltesers ones were NOT safe

choices eggs (dairy free) were also safe

as well as usual Kinnerton

Trwyn - have asked Alex Gazzola www.alexgazzola.co.uk/ and Skins matter for help with this - really need a searchable list of non nut/peanut containing products made in non nutty environments. So many don't list ingredients on websites. Even though we would still need to read ingredients / check before use, it might save a lot of wasted time and effort finding products. Re Cadbury: they were making many of their bars in the old Bristol factory and have now got state of the art production (in Poland I think.)

Hey found some nut free curly wurly's today! Am still searching for chomps but have found all of the other new nut free bars!
Be careful though still loads of old 'nutty' stock out there!

Hazelwhirls, I think the problem is that the regulations for food and cosmetic labelling are quite different. Added to that their tendency to use the latinate names for nuts rather than plain English and it can be a bit of a minefield.

I contacted some cosmetic companies and for some of their products the ingredients can change significantly on a year by year basis, so it really is very difficult to be safe. Some avoid using nut oils altogether though, so it is still an area I'm looking into.
