Allergies and intolerances

Is this an allergy?

DD who is 6.5 months developed eczema about 2 months ago. DP and several other family members have/had it so didn't think much of it and treating with creams.

She is BF. Started weaning and noticed she gets a rash round her face when I've given cows milk (with cereal). Happened 3 times now (so I stopped using it) and once when I tried egg - does this seems like an allergic reaction?

What should I do, go to GP for a test? Do I cut it out of my diet as that could be causing the eczema? Just give lactomilk?

TIA :)

It sounds like a mild allergy yes. My friends daughter reacted identically to milk and eggs, shes grown out of it now (21 months).

See your GP, avoid milk and eggs and try and get referred to an allergy specialist.

You may find her eczema improves if you stop dairy in your diet. My sons reflux disappeared when I stopped dairy. Hes anaphylactic though, so a bit different.

Is lactomilk lactose free milk?

She'll be allergic to the milk protein most likely, lactose tends to be an intolerance (gut related reaction) so she'd still react to lactomilk.

Also, be careful of soya many that are allergic to cows milk dont get on with soya. Similar proteins.
