My lovely friend who is having a party for her DS on Saturday has just texted me to check that all the ingredients for the egg and dairy free birthday cake she has baked are safe for my kids. Along with the egg and dairy free sausage rolls, top hat cakes etc etc.

I'm blown away that she has made such an effort.

That's lovely, I know what you mean. My adult DD made lots of treats for my DS for Christmas, nut allergy. It is nice when they are not left out.

How lovely that your friend has gone to so much effort for your lo, I have a very understanding friend like this also, how sad it is that such friends are rare Wink.

To be fair most of my friends make sure there's something the kids can eat. Lots of them bake birthday cakes for their children but this is the first time one has attempted one my kids can eat.

She had 3 attempts to get it right. Think I'll take her some flowers.

I took my dairy free child to a party last week and was so touched when the host bought out the cake and told me she had spent weeks trying to perfect the perfect dairy free recipe! She also had changed the pudding option for all the children to dairy free option ! Little things mean so much

It really does mean a lot. Particularly when I make an effort to cater for certain family whims dietary requirements and they ignore my kids' genuine allergies, but friends make such an effort.

You can pick your friends Trixy, I shall leave it there!
I too have a couple of gems in my little mummy's group, couldn't have made it this far without them - they just don't get how grateful you really are for the little things they do...
