I am coming to the end of reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett which I have very much enjoyed and I wanted to look up some factual stuff to read. Any ideas please?

How about Rosa Parks's memoir. Rosa Parks: My Story?

Pre-cursor to civil rights but I loved Booker T Washington's 'Up from Slavery' and follow it up WEB Du Bois. I can't recall what his book was called but he essentially represents the opposite view if Washibgton, but Washington's autobiography is fascinating.

thank you mixed, and Duchess I am really enjoying your recommendation, can't believe all that was happening just 10 years before I was born!
