Little happy update

It's so nice to get official documents through!

DS's new passport has arrived - his face Grin He was even happier than he was when he saw the deed poll and watched signing! Guess he didn't feel 100% sure it was definitely happening until he was holding some proper official evidence. Especially since he was a bit upset when I told him we can't change his short BC or adoption certificate. I feel guilty, I accidently gave him impression that everything would have his new name on, because I totally forgot to mention those particular certificates.

Anyway, he's so pleased he wants to show it to everyone and he seems to have forgotten that you're supposed to hide your photograph out of feigned/actual embrassment when you show it off. I'll not remind him then Wink Grin

And his new amended EHIC arrived (another thing for him to happily gaze at!) as well so we're all set for our holiday now Smile

Not too much left for me to change now, done school and medical, so "just" (ha!) all the money related stuff I think. Remind me if I've forgotten something important please!

ps. DD2 watched us do all this - and seems to have dropped the idea of changing her surname (which I'm certain she never really wanted to do anyway). Having to get a fookin witness and oh God look at the passport form..and...and everything...the horror of it Shock Grin

I think it's a good sign too Smile

There's supposed to be passport delays and we're going on holiday in just less than 2 weeks so I filled in the passport form on the very same day the DP was signed, which was the day after it came in the post. Heard of people waiting 6+ weeks for their passports so I worried I was cutting it too fine, but it's been a day off 4 weeks so not a problem

It was actually a very quick process to get the deed. Filled in form, got it by the end of the week Smile Cost less than £20 (you don't have to pay anything but I couldn't find a free to copy template for a childs poll so I decided to just pay for one).

Passport cost on the other hand!!

Great news! It is so lovely to hear how pleased and proud he was and it was also good for DD2 to see how much effort goes into officially changing her name.

Moomoomie We've been resolving some name issues! Thread here will explain it

We're going to France, staying in a caravan park Smile We've been to France before, but can't afford to go every year so we usually go to UK caravan parks. We're all excited to go again though, they had so much fun last time Smile
