DS school is having tenth anniversary celebrations this week. Formal assembly in school with Richmond Mayor in attendance - ten children - one from each year and three from the first three years of the school who have now moved on were chosen to write their favorite memory of the school and read it out in Assembly. DS was chosen in from his year.
DS wrote (in joined up illegible writing)
"My favorite thing I ve done at Kewcumber primary school was the Horniman muesum workshop because the person runing it let us hold 4,000 year old Egyptian mumies, and learned that they worshipd cats and dung beatles."
(All punctuation and spelling his, not mine!)
He's in year 2.
He has some minor speech impediments which he is rather self conscious about and read it out in front of the whole school anyway.
My family told me not adopt him because as a very delayed 26 week premmie he would be incapable of living an independent life and I would waste my life looking after him.
I know he's not A star. But he's MY star.
[ridiculously proud emoticon]
Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on adoption.
Adoption
