How many LAs can we talk to at once?

We are talking to our local LA and they are coming to visit us at home. Can we talk to other LAs before the visit or after?

Our local LA only has kids under 3 or over 6 and although I know a lot can change in the time it takes to get through this process what happens if that doesn't change. Can we approach other LAs once approved?

I had kind of though of the age we would adopt would be 3 or 4 or maybe 5.

Thank for any thouhts. Our LA approves from 0-5, it is the only category we are eligable for as we have a daughter who is 8.

You can talk to as many agencies as you want, both statutory and voluntary. But you can only do a home study and be approved by one. Once you are approved you can adopt a child from any adoption agency

You can talk initially to as many as you want, and IMHO that's a good idea. Some may be less/more enthusiastic or professional than others and you might get a really good impression from one that isn't your local council
