mine hate buttercream and or shop bought icky cakes. (I know - they aren't organic darlings, just hate processed cake)

they always bin the cake as its generally vile. Does anyone's kid eat the cake?

Yes DD is a gannet for cake

grumpalumpgrumped Tue 13-May-14 21:57:38

Yes but DS (5) is a cake monster (despite only weighing a few pounds more than his 2 yr old brother)

EduardoBarcelona Tue 13-May-14 21:57:43

no they dont eat it?

Trollsworth Tue 13-May-14 21:58:06

Yes, both mine do. It's the first thing they do as they leave.

littleducks Tue 13-May-14 21:58:37

Yes normally.

Bakersbum Tue 13-May-14 21:59:06

It's the highlight of the party bag for my ds(3). Makes me feel a bit yucky after seeing the birthday child blow and spit all over it, but I try and block that out.

how ^ interesting^
i once did chocolate brownies in a clear celophane bag with a lego sugar pastey brick on.
they ate them, i saw them...

We bin shop bought fake cake but they always eat the home made, the more buttercream the better.

Rumours Tue 13-May-14 22:00:03

Yes mine do.

HalfATankini Tue 13-May-14 22:00:06

Sometimes they do, but usually not. But that's because they're face down in the haribo and plastic tackery in the party bag.

SanityClause Tue 13-May-14 22:01:22

Rarely. They alwys used to eat the sweets, though.

thingamajig Tue 13-May-14 22:01:58

No, the icing all sticks to the napkin and cake itself is never eaten, just the icing.

CMOTDibbler Tue 13-May-14 22:02:14

Yes, by the time we're home it will be eaten.

mumof5plusazoo Tue 13-May-14 22:02:47

Most of the time mine do. If the one invited doesn't like it for whatever reason one of their siblings will eat it.

WaitingForMe Tue 13-May-14 22:04:43

No. The napkin and cake are inseparable and gross. If parents wrapped the cake in something sensible like greaseproof paper I'd pop it in the fridge and give it the next day but soggy sticky messes go straight in the bin.

Kids don't care. They eat the Haribo on the way home.

Purpleroxy Tue 13-May-14 22:05:43

We always eat the cake!

all the children at the cake from DS's party. i know that because half of them had eaten it before their parents got them in the car grin

iMN Tue 13-May-14 22:06:56

Yes, sometimes DS eats the cake but only if he gets to it before I do.

Toys in the bag are a great cake distraction. While he's fumbling about with the plastic tat I swoop.

gurningpug Tue 13-May-14 22:07:53

Yes. The more synthetic the better in DDs eyes.

Only1scoop Tue 13-May-14 22:08:47

Yes always smile

Fishstix Tue 13-May-14 22:09:00

We I eat the homemade ones we chuck the shop bought paste icing ones.
