Best Sunday lunch ever!

I've just been out with dm and ds for lunch, we found what we thought would be an ok place online and set off. Well it was incredible, the food was fabulous, kids eat for £1 on a Sunday (including drink and pudding), adult meals were lovely and good value for the quality.

If any of you live near Worthing (we're 30mins away) give 'Food restaurant' a try.

I'm afraid neither of those plates looks particularly appealing to me, but glad you enjoyed it.

FourForksAche Sun 04-May-14 16:45:09

'Food restaurant' - shit name.

LineRunner Sun 04-May-14 16:45:46

What are those meals, if you don't mind me asking?

Berryglitter Sun 04-May-14 16:50:32

The first one is there tasting plate: cajun wedges, steak with chimichuri, lobster tail in some sauce I've forgotten and various other bits and bobs. Then a chocolate and toffee fondue, which my ds enjoyed more than anyone I think.

Dm and ds had roasts for mains, which looked great.

MrsDavidBowie Sun 04-May-14 16:53:27

No that doesn't appeal to me at all

FourForksAche Sun 04-May-14 17:00:33

Since we're sharing our dinners, I made this for the Jubilee a while back.

Obviously my choice in food isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, it was just nice to go somewhere where price, quality, service and choice were all such a high standard. Especially after getting ripped off by my takeaway last week buy that's a whole new thread.

FourForksAche Sun 04-May-14 17:02:55

Oooh, I had a lovely take away the other night, I think the chicken was actually turkey though.

I don't think the pictures are doing your written description justice which is a shame.

FelixFelix Sun 04-May-14 17:05:12

Food restaurant is a very odd name.

EvansOvalPiesYumYum Sun 04-May-14 17:05:28

Sorry, I think I might give it a miss - looks quite revolting

LittleBearPad Sun 04-May-14 17:07:34

Stop pissing on the OP's fire people. She had a lovely lunch. You may not have enjoyed the same food but you don't have to be so grumpy about it.

EvansOvalPiesYumYum Sun 04-May-14 17:07:52

Mmmm - that looks yummy, FourForksAche. (I love a good pie) Can only make out the first word, though smile

Berryglitter Sun 04-May-14 17:08:28

My camera on my phone is beyond awful, so yes probably not doing them justice. They even had live piano music, ds was fascinated (which kept him nice and quiet).

I could have dealt with turkey instead of chicken, my takeaway turned up 3hours after we ordered, so after calling them 18 times with no answer we had ordered from elsewhere. They've still taken the money from my account even though we sent him away. I'm not a happy woman.

FourForksAche Sun 04-May-14 17:10:22

Thank you Evans, I had got a bit fed up with all the jubolympic jingoistic hype at the time.

It was chicken & leek, with an attempt at home made puff pastry but it didn't rise as well as the packet stuff.

FourForksAche Sun 04-May-14 17:11:13

Berry, was that direct to the shop or through just eat?

That's terrible.

RabbitPies Sun 04-May-14 17:12:41

I want lobster tail now,and chocolate dipped marshmallow sac.envy

FourForksAche Sun 04-May-14 17:13:51

chocolate dipped marshmallow sac

tell me this is a typo grin or do I have a sick perverted mind?

RedSoloCup Sun 04-May-14 17:15:43

How grumpy are you lot!?!

Sounds lovely OP thanks for sharing

FourForksAche Sun 04-May-14 17:17:17

Red, I was a bit grumpy at first, I thought it was an advert from a pub. I'm not now.

Twighlightsparkle Sun 04-May-14 17:17:28

What's up people! Full moon or something?

Glad you had a lovely lunch

RabbitPies Sun 04-May-14 17:18:38

Definitely a typo! Autocorrect is being weirdbagain. Chocolate dipped sac does not sound appealing at all.

FourForksAche Sun 04-May-14 17:20:02

Rabbit, I reckon you'd have to go to a specialist boutique for one of those grin

Berryglitter Sun 04-May-14 17:20:47

It was pizza hut, £47 worth as we had family and friends over for a wii and movie night. I don't have that sort of money to throw away, they refuse to even respond. Mum treated us today which was lovely.
