There is a black one and a white one. The only difference I can see is that the black one comes with 2 sports games.

Is one better than the other in some way?

And what on earth is a Nunchuk? And a wiimote? Wii motion plus?

The black one is alimited addition. We've bought the white one because I figured accessories in the future will be easier to get in the normal colour. I'd get an extra nunchuk and an extra wiimote additional to whats in your package. You should get one of each with the package. Most of the white wii packages come with sports resort and wii sports atm too. Te motion plus is ust an addon to give the controller more feeling. You dont need to buy another one of these though unless you want to.

We were given that very package this weekend by the in laws.
I hate games consoles with a passion, but ds LOVES it.
Best thing about it for me is that you can watch the iplayer on yer telly, instead of on laptop.

Black one is limited edition. The only difference between the machines is that it is made of black plastic not white.

I wouldn't bother tbh as any extra wiimotes or nunchucks would not match and it would annoy me.

It just comes down to personal preference.

Wiimotes are the controllers
Nunchuck is an extra part to the controller that you plug in to the wiimote and some games need it to play, but most don't.

Wii motion plus is basically an improvement to the original wiimote. Another plug in. You may need it to play some of the newer games but we haven't bothered getting any.

Usually the game you get free with the wii is wiisports I think which is lots of mini games. Good and enough to get you started.

I think you can also still get wiiplay with an extra controller which is also lots of minigames. Again good to get you started.

How old are the kids?

When we first got ours we got a white wii with wii sports and a controller and nunchuck with it (all one bundle). We then bought wiiplay (with the extra controller). That kept us going for about 6 months with no need to buy more.

If you want to buy extra games - Sonic and Mario at the Olympics is good. Also Koroinpa game and Mario racing game are good.

DC are 12, 10 and 3 (is mainly for the oldest 2, and DH of course)

Good point about the colour matching issue.

So 2 wiimotes and 2 nunchuks needed. Is wii sports extra worth choosing a particular package for?

Have found a package with white console, 2 wiimotes and 2 wii nunchuks, plus wii sports and wii play for 250 euros (am not in UK)

Is this good?

I would say that is definately worth it.

I wouldn't buy any extra games for now. Maybe after christmas if they get given christmas money.

BTW my ds when he was 3 loved the wii. The control system is a lot easier for young children than a traditional controller (like e.g. x box).
