She's read Twilight etc, the Ingo series ... what next for my 11 year old book-mad dd?

I'm on Amazon right now doing my Christmas shopping. DD is eleven and a brilliant reader. It's her big thing.

Can you suggest what she might like to read?

Much appreciated.

The Black Magicians Trilogy by Trudi Canavan.

Has she read His Dark Materials?

Oh, and the Tales Of The Otori by Lian Hearn are good.

Eva Ibbotson's older books - The Secret Countess etc - Red House have a set of five for £10.99 - absolute bargain. My 12-yr-old, who also loves Ingo, Inkheart etc, loves them. They really are a must read.
The Louise Rennison books are very funny, if you don't mind her reading about boyfriends, snogging etc.
On the more oldfashioned side, my DD adores the Anne of Green Gables series. You could even start with the prequel, Before Green Gables, which was published last year and is, surprisingly, amazingly good.

She could read a proper vampire book: Dracula. Or Wuthering Heights, seeing as Meyer keeps referencing it...Ok, I know these would be a bit hard for an eleven year old but she might enjoy Jane Eyre. My Swordhand Is Singing (Marcus Segewick) is another great contemporary gothic book aimed at teenagers.
