I see very mixed reviews about it...am wondering whether to treat DH to a showing of it at the IMAX in London.

Has anyone seen it? Is it worth going to see?

Went to see it with my three boys, aged 15, 13 and 11. We thought it was a fantastic film, however not for the extra sensitive as the effects are so life like. We have endured a few nights of the landing light being turned on at 3am (by the 13 year old) to scare away the ghost of Christmas present! There were also some small children in the cinema who were constantly asking for explanations to the plot.

Quite a dark film but with some amusing bits and of course a happy ending. Seeing it in 3D is a must but be prepared for a few stomach lurching moments.

We saw it in 3D with our 12 and 10 year old, both of whom knew the story and we thought it was excellent. We then saw a programme about how it was made with Colin firth. Really clever.

Worth seeing in 3D - although ds (4) wasn't scared there was one scene which made us all jump.

I personally prefer the old tv version - in fact the dialogue is much the same.
