Franny, am not at all familiar with your DS so am probably missing something blindingly obvious, but if he wants it, I can't see why not, other than the fact it's £100..

DS2 (4) has requested "pretend lipsticks" Will be popping into the poundshop for something to wind him up I think!!

Report
LaDiDaDi · 14/11/2009 20:01

100 pounds for that!!! .

What is he getting instead?

Report
differentID · 14/11/2009 20:03

this is the child who made that fantastic clay cock isn't it?

Report
Adair · 14/11/2009 20:03

I should think not!

£100!

Is it the boxes and secret compartments he likes?

these look fun

or just a second hand dressing table and a bunch of stickers?

smee, it's because it's £100, you got it!
and, well, because a big frilly piece of furniture he doesn't need, would not be my first choice for his present even if it was free....but i am tempted to try to get him a kind of cheap version....will scour the charity shops and see what i can do with some gold paint

i adore him. and lovely to see you as well, frank.

dd1 (nearly four) wants 'a bell'. no other detail has been forthcoming.

doggiesayswoof · 14/11/2009 20:05

bless him

At least he hasn't asked for a blimmin DS (a nintendo one I mean)

We are currently trying to divert DD onto something else

Your DS1 sounds like a sweetie .

I'm distracted by the gumph (is that the right word?) underneath the picture from the ELC - how exactly does a mirror develop social skills? Unless it's practicing talking to yourself.

dd (3.6) wants a giant marshmallow.

Report
FrannyandZooey · 14/11/2009 20:07

differentID i suspect he wants it to display his artwork on

the boxes are lovely! ds2 would adore those also

he has always had a thing about dressing tables, and the one next to it in the ELC catalogue has a plastic hairdryer and beauty set on it, which has also always been a fascination for him

(he has got play hairdriers and make up etc i must point out)

but he has not had his heart set on one like this before i don't think

i asked what he would do with it
"but mummy it is so PRETTY"

this is a boy with grubby knees who likes punk music
i will never figure him out

He sounds great franny. Fab idea to go buy a piece of tat and do it up yourself. Far more fun.

actually her grandmother has found one. it's in the car at the moment, drives me bananas if i go over forty mph. i really don't want it in the house...

Report
AitchTwoToTangOh · 14/11/2009 20:11

but thank you, of course.

both dd's were playing with their treasure baskets today, i was thinking fondly of you as i got a chance to load the dishwasher.

Was he the one who made the large clay cock or was that DS2?

I remember that at least hidden as it was in the arts and crafts section. Hugely funny thread

i am thinking poor ds1
at this rate he will be a middle aged banker and people will be coming up to him saying "aren't you the one who made that big clay cock?"
