Game Ideas for Nintendo DS for my 6 yo DS

Help please! MIL is intent on buying DS a Nintendo DS system for Christmas. I don't really know much about any video games except for the few we have for our Wii, as I find gaming boring. Do any of you have any suggestions for what games your children really enjoy or you've heard other kids like?

I don't think that will work. I was counting on DH to put a stop to it, but somehow he didn't understand what she was saying (I was there during the conversation where she quite plainly and simply stated she wanted to buy DS the DS for Christmas and he said sure) and didn't do what he was supposed to.

Oh he'll LOVE it, they are great for long journeys/or long waits in restaurants for food etc.My dd aged 6 has one and hasn't turned into a zombie.
All kids seem to ADORE Mario Kart and Super Mario bros for Ds so they are great for starters.

DS got a DS for his 6th birthday in August. He loves scooby doo games, ben 10, spider man, and harry potter. He was given a load of games on one card which is great.
