House is decorated and I am now sat on my arse, guzzling chestnuts and stollen, watching "Arthur Christmas". Christmas has begun!

Smug, you are!
Jealous, I am! (And sounding like Yoda!)

I sent DH and DD up to the attic to find the advent tree (DH had looked twice but couldn't find it) Hmm

So we have it set up with the Christmas Advent chocolate bars (Lakeland)

No other decorations untill next weekend. DS birthday ,

[tchenvy] stollen though (curses self for not buying at Sainsburys)
But I've got mincemeat pies.

Have had first choccy from advent calendar and AMAZING German first Sunday in advent brunch with assorted yumminess. But decorations don't go up until weekend of 14th, after DS's birthday and my DM leaves Grin

We've just finished putting the tree up and are watching the end of Blues Brothers, an age old tradition for DH. I still need to find some way to afix the wreath to the front door though, any ideas?

mogz go to B&Q tomorrow and get a hook Command Strip. It's what I've used. Really good, and they don't mark either when you've finished.

House decorated, went out to The White Company and chose some pretty bits with DS (3) and then we went out to lunch together. It's sort of our 'thing'. I'll enjoy it whilst he still wants to come out to lunch with me; give it another 10 years and I'll be too boring Grin

House is now festooned (such a lovely word) in fairy lights and scented candles; 1/3 off from Sainsburys Wink I know where the deals are!

Sitting down to a cup of tea in a snowman mug whilst DS watches Toy Story.

What will you do for the next month?

The DSs have opened their advent calendars, and we have put out the nativity.

Tree will be purchased next weekend.

baaaah I really wanted to be doing festooning today but got stuck out clearing leaves and sorting the back garden from the new fence going in last week and freaking out over the MASSIVE holly tree that has been lopped by neighbours to allow said new fence but has been left in our garden to dispose of feck knows how.

crushed my plans of chrismassing the house and drinking tea while scoffing first mince pie of the season bah humbug!!

Ziggy thanks, that's a great idea. Misfitless would you be less bitter if I shared my lebkuchen with you?

We did the tree yesterday and took dd on the Santa express today. It was lovely! Next weekend we have dds nursery Christmas event, the week after dd has s Christmas play date either her cousin and the final weekend before will be a trip to soft play. Not that I've been planning since October or anything....

DC woke up this morning (5.30am, trial run for the 25th I think) to find their elves had returned, bring advent calendars and a new bauble each.

I gave in and said we could put the tree up today, if they helped me with the cleaning first. they set to work on the hall while I did the living room. What actually happened was I decided to completely rearrange the living room (which involved some minor rewiring of the electrics and buying new carpet Blush)

Tree never went up, but is out of the loft and I lit a Christmas scented candle while the DC put some Stickers on the windows. Now watching Happy Feet and practising songs for the first carol concert on Tuesday.

TheXmas, I'd say that's a very good start.

Left over paint for kitchen was under Xmas decorations so I've been touching up marks on walls this afternoon. Feeling less festive now!

Today:
(after setting up the advent tree)
Put the Dunelm Mill gingerbread man throw and cushions on the sofa

Put the Nordic grey duvet cover and lovely Primark flannel sheets (white with tiny navy reindeer ) on the bed

Smugly walked by all the tacky Christmas Jumpers because mine is a black with gold sequin reindeer pattern one from Quacker Factory that is years old and still festive and tasteful. And it's washed and hanging in the wardrobe. [tchwink]

I still need to declutter (loads)
Did the pantry on Wednesday

Sort through the crockery

Take a load of clothes to charity shop

Getting there eventually.
