Since robotgate was beginning to fill up the third bargain thread I thought I'd start a dedicated thread here to save Reastie from having to write another mega op just a few days after the last one!

I haven't had my phone call yet and am actually excited for them to ring as I want to put my jargon into use (Is that weird??)

I have a dispatch date of 29th, really hoping that it shows up now.

The lovely iloveholidays took the trouble to post in legal for us and got some good advice. (Even though it was her birthday!) You can read that thread here:

Is anyone else worried about the reports of hope charging full price after delivery? I can barely afford £13 for the robot - definitely not £40!

Being slightly wary of raising my head above the parapet, I'm going to take the cowardly route of waiting to see what response Spotty gets from her email.

If they ring in the mean while though I'm ready to rumble!

I'll be gutted if they don't honour it. Still waiting on call, had missed call yesterday which could have been them but if it was they left no message. If I haven't heard from them by end of the day, I'm debating making a call myself....if I'm feeling brave!

Am in same position as most, ordered last Sun. Had e-mail acknowledging order & they've taken money.

98 I don't think they can legally just take more money without permission.

Thanks for starting this. I also ordered on the 16th, email states it will be dispatched on the 29th and money has been taken from my account so if it wasn't for these threads I wouldn't know anything was wrong.

You just alerted us all to what looked like a genuinely good Christmas bargain, no way you could have known that Hope Education would turn it into such a faff!

Out of interest, what time did you order on Sunday?
Mine was at 9.50 am and didn't get processed.

Fingers crossed they honour them for you, and they surely cannot charge more afterwards?!

Vivi - not your fault at all - those robots were a fantastic bargain and those that have received them have got a great gift for a very low price!

So what is everyone planning to say if they receive a call saying we aren't getting the robot for £13?

I've got an acknowledgement email and estimated dispatch of 29th.

Going to say that according to their own t&c they have finalised a contract with us by sending the order confirmation quoting delivery. This means that legally they have to fulfil the order at this price. If they don't then they are in breach of contract. You can also mention the office of fair trading and that you heard about them on a very influential website if you'd like (though I wouldn't actually mention "mn" if I were you).
If they say it was clearly a pricing error then just assure them that no, it wasn't clear. We all thought it was just a bargain and were used to seeing similar reductions on other websites. They misled us.
You can also tell them that they told me it would be fulfilled on Tuesday as evidence that the contract was finalised.
Basically, legally they are on very shaky ground. Just let them know you're not rolling over for this.

pidgy my e-mail acknowledgement came through at 10.55am, and seem to remember it came through quite promptly.

Has anybody been contacted today? I didn't have a call yesterday or today so far. I'm wondering if they've changed their minds again? Seems to have gone quiet...
