Ok its not a christmas present but there seems to be lots of good ideas so I thought post here...
My mother is impossible to buy for - if she wants it she buys it even two weeks before her birthday. She's a young 60's likes unusual but cool things. Last year I got her a graze box subscription which she loved.., bags scarves have been done to death. She travels a lot - mostly cruises and has a huge house very tastefully decorated with twiggy stuff.
I'm now desperate for ideas - approx £20 -£30 budget.
I'll give you Cake

Tickets for something, or a day out somewhere?

I have previously made a little certificate for my mum promising a day out to our nearest RHS garden (with me) and afternoon tea. We had a lovely day- had a chance to talk and catch up properly.

I came across something good recently. It was a spice subscription. A box comes through your door once a month with recipe cards and all the spices you need to cook exotic themed meals. I can't remember the company now but probably easy to google it. I think it's perfect!

Sponsor a dog/ donkey/ tree.

Buy a goat or well for a family in Africa.

Glossy Box subscription if she's into cosmetics.

The cutlery commission recycles old cutlery, v nice stuff. Based in cheltenham or the cotswolds, IlRC. Can personalise things like cake knives. Perf for twiggy stuffers iyswim.

Does she like crafts? A day course somewhere?

Thanks for suggestions - will investigate all. In the mean time I've found rather funky russian doll measuring cups which will do as a token gift whilst I ponder something bigger.
It's hard to buy something for someone who has taste when you don't...
