Big hits in our house has been skylanders (dd1 had to be dragged off the Wii), Furby and good old lego.

Disapointing items were the addictaball (should be called impossaball), its a pile of cr*p and a bit broke off after 5 minutes of trying to work it out, Hello Kitty cool cardz, probably as dd2 is a bit young for it so just chucked all the bits everywhere without reading the instructions.

Big hit in our house is a large red barn, with animals to go inside.

www.amazon.co.uk/Schleich-42028-Barn/dp/B0012BQ622/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1356472168&sr=8-1-fkmr2&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

I worried that dd might be too old for it, but it was on her list and she has played with it for much of the day.

Light saber, a watch, an 89p notebook and a new DS game have been hits with Ds1 - 6.

Ds2 - 4 - loves his light saber too, and has eaten a LOT of chocolate. Duplo untouched.

Dts, 17 months, like wind up toys and a hamster in a ball that runs off round the room ,and books with buttons to press. DTD not remotely interested in her first dolly Grin

DS 9 - loved his FurReal cookie (DH didn't want me to get it as said DS too old but obviously not! Wink plus a puppies calendar in his stocking!! DS does love his animals.

DD 15 - loved her macbook (second hand just to clarify lol) have told her if she doesn't keep her GCSE studies up I'm taking it away - she's not quite sure whether I will or not so hopefully keep her on her toes.

For once nothing disappointing!

Nintendo 3ds xl (unsurprisingly) and kindle are the big hits along with zhu zhu pets from my mum!

The chocolate has gone down pretty well tooXmas Wink DS1 (10) has a penchant for expensive chilli chocolate!

No misses really at the moment....they are 8 and 10 though, I've had plenty of years of getting it wrong to practice getting it right!

DS liked his Kindle Fire and Scooter but one of his stocking presents was a packet of Angry Birds stickers from the newsagents and he hasn't let them out of his sight since early this morning. I have just had to prise them out of his sleepy grip Confused

Have just ordered him a Sticker Album with his Amazon Voucher.

Big hit here was a stunt scooter. Also the biggest disappointment as try as I might I cannot assemble the sodding thing. Or rather I cannot get the handlebars to fit on to the base because the bloody sodding screw does not line up with the bloody sodding hole buried in the shaft of the handlebar stem. I have spent 6 hours, 6 sodding bloody hours and I cannot do it and don't know how to fix it or where to take it to be fixed. Halfords sell as similar one so I am going to see if they will take pity on me and take my cash to fix it. The most annoying thing is I could have paid an extra £10 to have it pre-assembled but I thought it would be easy Angry and Sad. At least ds has stopped crying now.

It doesn't help that it is a present from Father Christmas so difficult to send back to the supplier without ds being very suspicious.

We are feeling more than a little relieved that dd's main pressie was a hit.. The playmobil princess fantasy castle.. It took 3 hours to build last night and we were worried she might be a little young but it has been sooo loved Xmas Grin she even had to dress as a princess to play with it (dd was three on Sunday and the Cinderella dress was the birthday success)

She is also now sleeping in the sledge from my parents, dragged her duvet and pillow down here and is snuggled up with teddy, we don't have the heart to move her lol

Success - new phone for dd

Fail - after initially nearly being the days winner, I bought her a severed hand to practice nail art etc on. She painted one nail, fiddled with it, went to remove it and its stained it permanently

20 month old loves the playmobil police things I got second hand - car, van, police station, helicopter, motorbike. Also two tractors from ELC that were bought by friends.

He is less impressed with the books but I'm sure he'll enjoy them when he's less excited about his new toys.

The Innotab 2 was a big hit, until DS2 dropped it and the screen cracked Sad. It only was dropped from a 4 years old's holding hight onto the laminate wood floor. Would John Lewis exchange or am I taking the piss?

Sony midi system for DS1 (aged 9) was a big hit and a total surprise. He also liked his Lego Goldmine.

She has a severed head already and it's great

I got the severed hand idea off someone on here, tis excellent.

Loving the clutching on to the Angry Bird stickers AdrinawhitechristmasAdare!

DS (3) has alternated between playing with his radio controlled car and his (2nd hand - thank you e-bay!) Tomy train set turntable. Every 15 minutes.

Less of a hit was the fact I got given not one, but THREE sodding sets of smellies. Have clearly arrived at that age a bit earlier than I was expecting.... Xmas Envy
