My son always loved P.B Bear's Christmas. He remembers it well and has asked me to find the book again( he is 18!).

Would he recognise his own name?

We got DD a series of personalised books from identity direct when she was 3, and the Christmas one was lovely - she goes off with her sister and her dog and helps Father Christmas (and St Nicholas, and Kris Kringle etc) deliver toys.

She still loves it now at age 7 - even though we've moved, so the address doesn't match any more.

Twenty Five December Lane by Helen Ward has some beautiful illustrations and a lovely story about finding the perfect present.
Stickman by Julia Donaldson
Jesus' Christmas Party by Nicholas Allen (nativity story with a funny twist)

Oh yes! We also have the grinch - he gets bored as it is long. We also have stick man. :)

Jolly postman is lovely - but maybe not dd (1.5yo) proof! Hmm

Father Christmas Needs a Wee is really funny ... Fits well with a 3 year olds sense of humour.

Father Christmas needs a Wee, Ds had it when he was three in his stocking and loved it, still does.

Another vote for The Night Before Christmas. Amazon hasn't got the edition we have but the words and illustrations are just lovely and kept my dc enthralled from age 2.

How about the stick man? Or the snowman, or a letter to Santa.

there was a christmas book thread on here last year and the advice I got and took was Lucy and Tom's Christmas - it's out of print so had to get a second hand copy from a book dealer online (was about £11 - but then delivered to Australia it was a pricey book!!!) BUT my kids 5 and 3 now, 4 and 2 then were enthralled - read it every bloominday during Dec and Jan.....and are begging me to get it out already this year......get it if you can Smile
