I've just remembered another person I need to buy a gift for. A friend will be returning from travelling on the 20th Dec. She has been away for a year and needs to job hunt straight away as she's now broke.
I would love ideas for a Christmas present for her. I was thinking of a voucher for a restaurant because one thing I missed when job hunting was being able to go out to eat as I couldn't afford it. Is that a good idea?

Should have mentioned that she's 28 and I am looking to spend about £20.

Ideal gift, just make sure it is somewhere local to save her travel costs Smile

Thanks. Think I'll go ahead and get vouchers for her favourite Italian place. It's round the corner from where she'll be living.

Is it a cheapy Italian? My concern would be £20 doesn't go very far towards a meal for 2 and if she's totally broke she may not be able to afford the difference.

Oh Italian can be quite expensive. I assumed you ment somewhere that the £20 would cover the meal. I would either go for somewhere quite cheap and cheerfull or send her a 'homemade voucher' treating her to dinner and a catch up with you and that way the £20 would pay for her share. Smile

It's a cheap Italian (good food though). £20 would cover a meal for 2 and a drink each.
