Littlest Pet Shop - could you buy other brand pets?

The pets are SO expensive, it's really shocked me! Is there any reason why you can't use any little animal figures to use in the playsets? Ir do the playsets have sections which only fit the official pets?

Sainsburys have them at £1.24 for individual pet & accessory at the moment. And they have a house for £20.

Ooooh, must head off to S'burys then, thankyou! I bought a set for £20 from Tesco but didn't realise it came with no pets, grrr...

Might be the same one I just bought from Sainsburys :) Only has 1 pet.

They had lots of individual ones though, and some bigger sets with 4 pets for about £6.

They're also doing those LPS surprise bags for £1 at Sainsbury's and for that you get a pet but no accompanying plastic tat.
