Does anyone know when I can book a slot for Christmas Tesco grocery delivery ie christmas eve?

I remember trying that last year and they'd greyed out all the delivery slots!

Not sure if that was just in my area though?

They normally send you an email to say when the slots are bookable from.

From memory last year they didnt deliver past the 23rd, there were no delivery slots available for the 24th.

Slots will be available late november.

Slots for Tesco tend to open 4 weeks in advance. I've set a reminder on my laptop to pop up so that I can get it sorted early. Maybe a kind volunteer could post a message on here to alert when they see they are taking bookings? I'm happy to do it should I be first to find out (which is unlikely as I'm always the last to know)

HOWEVER...last year I was too late for Tesco delivery as the slots were all gone so ended up with an Asda one on the 23rd, which was a complete nightmare as they were out of EVERYTHING.....So I'm going to get mine to come a few days in advance just in case we have the same scenario again and I don't have to go racing down to Waitrose to get last minute essentials on the 24th.

Happy planning!

I wouldnt risk anything last minute! Will never forget the 23rd Dec Tescos delivery that had £38 of it missing but still charged for HmmAngry . Took forever to sort out, and they couldnt even bring it to me because itwas xmas blah blah blah.

we had MAJOR crisis! as the stupid folk at Asda (other supermarkets ARE available) didn't have the wine that I ordered....didn't occur to them to substitute so they brought NO ALCOHOL.

Won't be making that mistake again......always difficult buying the booze early though as we tend to drink it....

We made the mistake of using them a few years ago too. Way too much missing and I still had to go so it was a waste.

My tips would therefore be:

Get drinks and snacks etc a couple of weeks early and store them.

Get your veggies and non fresh stuff a good few days beforehand.

Be like me and get to ASDA at 5.30 am - its dead. Get the frest stuff you need and get home!

You might have to stay up to about 1am to get one, afair there was a fuss about this last year about Tesco cancelling or greying out slots.

Last year we had our Tesco christmas delivery cancelled as they couldn't get to us because of the snow and we live in the south east!

All the buses were cancelled as well, had to walk to the local supermarket (morrissons) and carry Christmas dinner and everything home!

This year, whatever can be bought in advance will be, I will only ever leave the fresh stuff till the last minute!

I booked a slot with Waitrose this week. No idea what I need yet. Just put random items in my basket totalling minimum amount and will change to what I really need nearer the date.
