Ingredients

2lb runner beans after stringing
1.5lb onions, chopped
1 pint malt vinegar
1-2 tsp cornflour (but may need more)
1.5 tbsp turmeric
Salt
1 tsp dry mustard
2lb Demerara sugar

Handy Hint

I tend to use the upper amount of cornflour

Method

Cook the beans.
Boil onions in half a pint of vinegar.
Add beans & another half pint of vinegar.
Boil for 15 mins.
Mix dry ingredients together and add to beans – boil for 10 mins.
Leave to cool.
Pot.
