I do not mean this in a bad way but anyone hear the same names over and over and over the last couple of years?

Mines are:

Jayden - had 8 clients so far this year with that name
Ellie
Eva
Imogen
George
Girl names ending in Lee, Lea, Leigh

NellyBluth Thu 24-Jan-13 20:32:13

Amelia/Amelie, Isabella/Bella, Poppy, Freya for girls.

George and Freddie for boys.

There is a lot of similarity of names around here, and similar styles - so most of the girls have 'pretty' names and the boys have traditional names.

There seem to be quite a few John Pauls around this area.

We have 4 Florences at my DD's nursery. And I thought I was giving her a slightly unusual name....

BurnstonesBabies Thu 24-Jan-13 22:38:14

Round here (in Scotland), we're awash with Islas. There's been a flood of Noahs this last year too, a couple of Kaylas, Archie is cropping up quite a lot too and Oliver.

BurnstonesBabies Thu 24-Jan-13 22:38:57

Add Leo to that list too!

flowerygirl Thu 24-Jan-13 22:41:29

Grace
Isabella
Isla

Oscar
Jack
Harry
Charlie

All lovely but these names are in 'top 10 names of the year' lists, do parents not check these before naming their kids?!

SoggySummer Thu 24-Jan-13 22:46:54

Eleanor, Ellie, Isobel, Olivia, Amelia

Jayden, Jack, Alfie, Thomas, Harry

Lots of Finlays but only one Finn
Ava seems popular here and so does Tilly

thegreylady Thu 24-Jan-13 22:54:54

Fwiw I have never met/heard of a Jayden

Wetthemogwai Thu 24-Jan-13 22:57:23

Evie, Molly, Taylor (double barrelled with may or Lilly usually), Ava, lexi, ruby and milly for the girls

Alfie, Jayden/kayden, Charlie and Daniel for the boys

Dd just staring playgroup in the new area now which is completely the other end of the spectrum to the old one! The girls names are very similar but the boys are more William, Reuben and Charles which is very odd hearing them being politely beckoned shouted across the room when they're rubbing sand in each others eyes grin

marriedinwhite Thu 24-Jan-13 23:00:13

All lovely. I can't quite get my head around Jayden though. Is it the 2010(ish) equivalent of Wayne?

peanutMD Thu 24-Jan-13 23:07:00

Oliver
Oscar
Freya
Isla
Sophie

Oh and the oh so original (as claimed by 3 friends who don't know each other) Lily-Rose hmm

My youngest dc is 5, so I don't know loads of babies, but 4 out of the 10 or so babies that I know born in the last year have been called Felix.

ceeveebee Thu 24-Jan-13 23:26:48

I don't know any Jaydens or any girls with names ending in Leigh/Lea etc

Popular here seem to be deriratives of Luke: Luke, Luca, Lucas
Also Jack, Charlie, George

Girls names seem to be more varied and unusual: we have an Autumn, Willow, Swan and Skye in some of our groups

GreatGretzky Thu 24-Jan-13 23:42:08

Charlie and Noah for boys, and Olivia and Sophie or Sophia for girls

GreatGretzky Thu 24-Jan-13 23:43:07

Meant to say as well, I don't know any Jaydens but do know 3 Brayden/Braydons!

zcos Thu 24-Jan-13 23:57:34

One not mentioned yet is theo for boys ...

But usual Ava Evie eve
And
Charlie and lots of Noah's

One of the wags of DH best mates has an Ava and she is midwife you would have thought she would have noticed every other baby was called that but they thought they were being original at the time!

flowerygirl DD's name is on your list.

To answer your question, we knew it was popular. But it's a family name and we knew we were going to use it whether it was number 1 or number 854,294. <shrugs>
