"Great for 2 year olds, lasts forever…"
Good solid toy, was passed to my second son from the first and both loved it. Good quality trains with it too, die cast, not plastic. Will last for years and once put together will stay strong too.Read moreLess
"I had to choose an age range, although I would…"
I had to choose an age range, although I would have probably said 1-3 rather than 1-2. We got this for our son when he was about 10 months old, and it has been the one thing he has consistently returned to, although he hasn't played with it the whole time, we've taken it away for a couple of months, then given it back.
He's not really into Thomas (unlike Bob the Builder - he's obsessed with Bob) but he loves playing with this - pushing the trains (you get 5 and a boulder) down the winding track, parking them at the bottom, then starting again. The issue I have with the set we have is that the trains get stuck at each level. Doesnt seem to bother him, but it really irritates me.
DS is now 2, and still likes to play with it, so it ticks all the boxes for longevity, and when he's bored of the playset, he takes the trains to push around his wooden train track (they dont fit - but again, he doesnt seem to care) Ours cost aboutRead moreLess
"We brought this for my son when he was 18mths…"
We brought this for my son when he was 18mths old and he loves it. He is now 2 1/2 yrs old and still plays with it. It still looks like new despite having been taken to pieces and put back together many times by him. Sometimes the trains need a little help to go down the tracks but we have found that wiping the track and the wheels with a wetwipe works wonders to speed them up. If buying this your own child as a present I would suggest setting it up before giving it to them as there are alot of stickers to apply and they may get impatient waiting.Read moreLess
